FDR FOUR FREEDOMS PARK
On March 29th, 2018, 35 thought leaders from the worlds of the arts, architecture, and public space gathered at the iconic FDR Four Freedoms park, a monument to human rights and a memorial for Franklin Delano Roosevelt designed by Louis Kahn on the southern tip of Roosevelt Island. S/Q Projects convened this "Ideas Charrette" to generate ideas and possibilities for public programming. After a tour of the park, the group met in the Tata Innovation Center for a discussion moderated by S/Q Projects. Participants jotted down notes and first impressions on a survey form, followed by a wide-ranging brainstorming session that touched on everything from human rights to handball.
